Our Own Photo Shoot

Well, Reagan's photo shoot got rained out today. Or rather gloomed out since it isn't actually raining. We ended up doing some photos of our own while taking her 8 month picture. She was having a great time playing in her Elmo chair and rolling around on the floor.

An update from yesterday on the tooth...it is most definitely a tooth. I can see it even more clearly today. It doesn't seem to be bothering her, but she is much less resistant to me looking in her mouth. Hopefully the tooth will pop through before too much longer.

We have had an otherwise quiet Saturday. We are looking forward to having Aunt Stacie and Uncle Wade and Taylor and Trey spend the night with us tonight.

Not much going on today. Reagan and I spent most of the day at home, trying to stay out of the rain. We did run to the mall between thunder storms to spend our Gymbucks at Gymboree, but have otherwise stayed in. We spent a lot of our time in her room organizing her closet. She has more clothes than any one child would ever need, but I can't stop buying them :) Especially when I find a good sale, like today at Gymboree. She was content playing in her crib for about an hour. As long as I would toss a new toy in every few minutes, she was fine. Notice she had a pretty good collection by the time I was finished.

I did make an interesting discovery this afternoon. I am about 95% sure that Reagan is cutting her first tooth. I can see white just underneath her gum. She hasn't been very fussy until this evening. She was playing with a hard block and bit down on it pretty hard. She howled for a while after that, so I gave her some teething tablets and by bedtime she was fine. Hopefully she will not have too much pain and will get some rest tonight so she can be all smiles for her pictures tomorrow.

MIssing everyone!

Reagan has been looking through her Baby Einstein photo album today. I think she is missing everyone. She shows her love by chewing on the pictures...lol.

We have received lots of email and call from family and friends since we started the blog saying how much they love seeing her. We are so happy to be able to keep everyone updated and love hearing your comments, so keep them coming.

Just had to share the second one to show off those beautiful blue eyes. Reagan has an appointment with a professional photographer on Saturday. The photographer wants to expand her portfolio to include more than weddings. So, she gets to use Reagan in her portfolio and we get a free photo shoot with the images on disc so I can print them. I am super excited since this will be our first shoot with a pro.

Mama's New Ride

Well, I finally got my new car! I am super pumped although I will admit...two years ago, I would not have been caught dead in this car. Now that I have Reagan and she has ten billion things that usually need to travel with her, I knew I had to get something with a little more space. An SUV isn't really for me. I would probably hurt someone in it. So, what else has that much space but is still more in the car category? A station wagon, of course. Once I decided to get a wagon, I knew I had to have a Volvo. As far as station wagons go, they are about as cool as they got in my opinion. So, I found a great car and I love it. It is a 99 Volvo V70 wagon. Black with every imaginable option. I am so in love. Reagan doesn't seem to have noticed that we have a new car. After all, her view is about the same.

She spends most of her time now trying to stand. JD got her to stand on her own while I was at church last night. She was holding onto something of course, but he was not holding onto her. I finally caught her long enough to snap a picture of it today. Hard to believe that my baby is standing already. She will be walking before we know it!

It's Just A Little Cough

Reagan occasionally does this thing...it sounds like a cough, but it is so faint and so quiet that it really sounds like she might be faking a cough. She is obviously okay when she does it and I find it hysterically funny.

I have this habit of mocking her when she does it. I can't help myself. I just think she is funny. Apparently, she has decided that being mocked is pretty funny, too.

The video is her laughing at me while I was mocking her fake cough. She is laughing so hard in parts that it sounds like she might be crying, but I promise, she is laughing. I am just glad she has a good sense of humor about me mocking her. :)

Weekend Update

Reagan and I had an awesome weekend camping with my family. This was Reagan's first camping trip. As far as my family is concerned, we are way behind. I was 6 weeks old for my first trip. LOL.

We had a great time and a big crowd (there was 25ish people on Friday night.) Reagan also had her first swim in the river. She loved that as I expected she would. The water was surprisingly warm considering it got pretty cool this weekend.

We also got to spend some time with Reagan's Great Aunt Mimi and cousins Megan and Amanda who were visiting from Texas. We had not seen them since Christmas but Reagan was right at home with them pretty quickly.

We can't wait to go again!

A Brand New Toy

Reagan is a long time helper with the laundry. She likes to sit in my lap while I fold and "help." Well, mostly chew on the clothes, but we all have our own methods I guess.

Today, she discovered the laundry basket. It has quickly become her new favorite toy. She sat in there for quite some times today, playing with her toys and then trying to get Ki's attention. That never goes very well as he is an old pro at ignoring her. :)

Swim lessons were great today. Reagan was the only one who would "float" on her back and the teacher was super excited about it. Looking forward to tomorrow and learning something new.

Quick Update!

Swim lessons are going okay. Yesterday went great until Reagan swallowed some water. She didn't get choked or anything, but she didn't like it and clung to me the whole time after that.

Today's class was canceled because it thundered right before we were to get into the pool. We decided since we were already there that we would wait it out and swim. She had fun, especially in the kiddie pool. She loved the little yellow thing that squirted water out of the ground.

The picture isn't very good and she kept closing her eyes. I think she thought that the water was going to hit her in the face. LOL. Anyway, I took the picture with my cell phone, but I hope to get some better ones when JD goes with us on Thursday.

Reeeeed Robin, Mmmmm!

Reagan got her first kid's menu from Red Robin today. They bring it to you all folded up with crayons tucked inside. I decided to keep it since it was the first one she ever got. This evening when I got it out of her diaper bag, I thought I would let her play just to see what she would do.
I expected that it would go straight to her mouth, which it did eventually, but here is what happened first...

Little stander

Not much news today. We went to church this morning where they say Reagan was fabulous in the nursery. After, we went to eat at Red Robin where again, she was fabulous and drew the attention of everyone (in a cute way, of course). We have mostly just been hanging out at home since then. I do think a tooth will be in Reagan's near future. I still can't see or feel anything in her mouth, but she has started to cry when she bites down on her toys.

Today's picture is her new trick. She wants to stand most of the time now. No more sitting for this girl! Swim lessons start tomorrow! We can't wait!

Ewww....

Reagan has this habit of putting everything in her mouth. I know that it is typical of a baby her age, but it seems like she would be a little choosy. Yesterday, I think she learned her lesson about this whole "have to taste everything."

The little ducky you see in the first picture has probably never been played with. He does have a brother in the bathtub, but I think his life has been spent in the toy box. Well, Reagan dug it out to christen it with a drool bath yesterday. As you can see in the second picture, the joke was on her when it obviously did not taste like she expected it to. These pictures were just too funny not to share!

In other news, we went swimming with Aunt Elisabeth, Cousins Brooke and Lucas and Great Grandma Ward today. It was good to see everyone and visit with them and of course, Reagan loved the water.

This afternoon my Mom and Dad came to visit. We had a great dinner at Red Lobster (their treat :o) and then picked up a few summer things like beach towels at the K-Mart next door. Poor Reagan never fussed, although she was so tired that she fell asleep while I was pushing her in the cart. She just kind of laid her head down on the handle (thank goodness I had my cart cover with me) and that was it. She slept for at least a half hour that way. It was a big day for her.

Ready to Roll!

Reagan was all ready to go for our morning walk today. This is her usual position...laid back with her feet propped up. She loves to ride in the stroller and would probably ride for as long as I would push her.

Surprisingly, she doesn't mind the sunglasses. She has several pair that she changes out periodically, you know, to go with her outfit. LOL.

Are all of these toys mine?

Reagan got to play in her playroom for the first time yesterday since we put in her now toy boxes. They were just the right size for her to sit in front of them and grab whatever she wanted. She had a good time digging through them but was too busy to share any smiles for the camera.

She had a great time with her friend Ellis, although I think they were both a little confused by this new "toy" that grabs back. They had fun just staring at each other for a while. I think they will become fast friends. We have plans to go and swim with Ellis and his Mommy next week.

We have a landscaper coming today to give us some ideas and potentially a start date for the backyard. I can't wait to actually have grass back there instead of just dirt! I hope to get Reagan's outdoor swing put up soon, too. This weather is too nice (although a little hot) not to be playing outside.

This bed is kind of neat, too!

Reagan has discovered that her bed isn't so bad either. At least now that she can sit up and she knows she isn't going to fall asleep, lol.

Among other news :) Reagan is having a friend over to play today. She is sure to have a great time and we will hopefully have pictures to share of her and Ellis in her new playroom. JD and I are still working on the playroom, but it is coming together. I think it will be a good place for her and Ellis to play when he starts staying here in August.

Just relaxing!

For some reason, Reagan loves to lay on our bed. I put her there while I fold laundry and she will sit there forever. Okay, maybe more like 10 minutes, but that is a long time for this kid. She loves to wiggle down between the pillows and watch the ceiling fan.

I figure it helps me get things done and she seems to enjoy it, so...
I realize it isn't as fun as yesterday's adventure in the fountain, but what can you do? :) Oh, and before anyone panics over me putting her WAY up on our bed where she could fall off, I fold laundry on the bed, so I am right there. No need for CPS. LOL.

Ahhh... cool off!

Well, we finally ventured back outside this afternoon to wait for JD to get home from work. In the few minutes we were out there, we were already HOT. I decided to stick Reagan's feet in the water from the fountain. It turned into her legs, then her hands, then her arms...until we were both soaked. She LOVED it and it cooled us both off, at least for a few minutes.

Do we have to go outside?

Reagan and I are a little bored with being in the house all day. Luckily, my chiropractor appointment got us out of the house this morning, but what to do after that? We decided to brave outside for a bit. After a 10 minute date with the sunscreen, we went out while it was a bit overcast. Even then, it only took about 5 minutes before we were hot and blah. We came back in and said a little prayer of thanks that we have nice, cold air. LOL. Anyway, here is the little cutie "enjoying" her outside time. Swim classes start next week, so we are looking forward to some time in the pool.

Welcome Baby Isaac!

My family has this habit of calling the youngest child in our family "Baby (insert youngest child's name here)" Reagan has been "Baby Reagan" since the day she was born. Everyone calls her that. All of the other kids have gone through it, too. You get to be "Baby so and so" until a new baby comes along. Funny.

Well, today Reagan has graduated to no longer being the baby. Reagan has a new cousin, born today. "Baby Isaac" was born this afternoon, 07-07-07. Hard to forget that birthday! Anyway, congratulations Melody, Jason and Aiden. We can't wait to meet "Baby Isaac."

Paranoid Mommy

Well, I made it 7 months without taking Reagan to the doctor for some paranoid Mommy moment. Today I caved. She has been so super clingy the last few days. Last night she woke up in the middle of the night and had a hysterical cry fest, today she has had a low grade fever and her ears are all goopy (probably not actually a word...lol).

I convinced myself that she must have an ear infection so I called the doctor and made an appointment. We went in and not only does she not have an ear infection, she was all happy and giggly while we were there. No signs of teeth yet either.

I was pretty embarrassed when the doctor diagnosed her as being just fussy. Eh...I figure 7 months is pretty good for a first time Mom. As you can see from the picture she was in a pretty good mood after we came home, too.

Look What I Can Do!

Well, Reagan has finally figured it out! For 7 long months, anytime we would lay her on her belly she would proceed to scream and just lay there. Still, we have diligently had tummy time everyday. I have asked her pediatrician if we should be concerned, but she feels like in her own time, Reagan will learn to like tummy time and will eventually roll over.

Today was the day for both it seems. She had a blast laying on her tummy looking at her books and then when she got tired of that, she just rolled herself over and smiled like she knew she had done something big. Luckily I had the camera out and ready. What a great kid. We are so in love.

One more song, Daddy!

JD has played lots of musical instruments for Reagan in her short life. Up to this point, she has not been very impressed or interested. Yesterday, he got out one of the guitars she hasn't heard (a steel guitar, maybe?) and she was hooked. I couldn't even get her to look at me for a picture she was so focused on him. LOL. We are thinking this may be her instrument of choice.

Among other new discoveries, she got her first balloon this morning. We went grocery shopping and as we were leaving the greeter started talking to her. Being the charmer that she is, she of course smiles and "talked" this lady's ears off. Before we could get out of the store, Reagan had talked the lady into giving her a red balloon. She was immediately fascinated with it.

Once we got home, I put it just within her reach to see what she would do. She grabbed the string and proceeded to pull it just right, so that the balloon would hit her in the head...about 657 times. She had the time of her life. Where I was with the camera, I don't know. Well, I was there, but didn't think to get the camera. We might try for a repeat later.
