Happy 7 months old!

Technically, Reagan was 7 months old on Thursday but I am just now getting around to posting her "month birthday" picture.

We started out at one month old, taking her picture in the Elmo chair she got from her Grandpa for Christmas. We wanted to use the same thing every month to show how much she had grown.

Now that she can actually sit up on her own, she won't sit still long enough for me to take her picture in it without holding her in. So, I guess for now she can just sit near it as a reference. Hard to believe how much she has grown. The first picture is at one month old. :)

Forgot this...

One of the picture we had made last weekend! They turned out pretty nice I think!

A Big Girl Bath

Reagan and I have been out of town most of the week. We have been staying at my sister's to watch her kids while she is out of town. Reagan had a great time watching her older cousins entertain her. They will do just about anything to get a smile or laugh out of her. :)

We spent a lot of time in the pool while we were there, and again, Reagan loved it. She has a new baby float that she really seemed to enjoy. No pictures since I forgot my camera, but I did include a bathtub picture which is the next best thing.

Reagan is now taking "big girl" baths. Well, sort of. I decided since she can sit up so well that maybe we could get the HUGE baby bathtub out of my bathroom. I got her a bath ring which takes up a lot less space.

I was a little worried about how she would do when I rinse her hair since she wouldn't be reclined. I just crossed my fingers and dumped the water over her head. Several times. She was surprised I think, but fine with it. She has now had several big girl baths and she seems to have adjusted just fine.

Hard to believe she is 7 months old already. A friend of mine called today to tell me she has a kidney stone and to ask if I had any advice for her. It really took me back to being pregnant and the whole ordeal with the kidneys talking to her about it. *sigh* It seems as though I haven't been paying attention and suddenly my child is closer to being a year old than she is to being a newborn. I hereby VOW to pay more attention...lol. Anyway, feel better, Leah!

Reagan's First Piano Recital

What a funny kid! The video speaks for itself. Overlook the hiccuping Mommy in the background!

Happy Birthday, Trey!

Yesterday was a very full day! We slept in which was our only rest all day, so we are thankful Reagan allowed that...lol. After waking up later than usual, we made it to church just as the service was starting. Oops!

After church, we went to JC Penney to have a family picture made. This was the first time we have done this since we had Reagan. Actually, it is the first time we have had any professional pictures made since our wedding. I guess we were due. Reagan did great, except that she was a bit stingy with her smiles. She was very smiley when we first started, but was distracted by all of the things in the room. The photographer grabbed some of her toys from her diaper bag to hold her attention. This seemed to totally baffle her, as she just stared at him the whole time after that. Not fussing, just staring. I think she was confused as to why this man she doesn't even know was holding Mr. Jingles. :) The pictures turned out really well in the end. I can't wait to get them back.

After pictures, we headed to Somerset for Trey's 4th birthday party. It was at a Chuckie Cheese type place. JD and I played lots of video games while Reagan got passed around from person to person. We got to visit with my cousins Amanda and Megan who are visiting from Texas. We have not seen them since Christmas, so that was very exciting. Reagan seemed to enjoy them, and them her. Trey racked up, especially in the Spider Man area. He was thrilled.

Here are a couple of pictures from our big day at the arcade. Reagan and her Daddy had lots of fun!

Let's not go out today...

Reagan made this decision early this morning. Not really, but I think if she could talk she would ask me not to put her in her carseat for a whole day. I know she enjoys being out and about but I know it really wears her out, too.

So, today we didn't even step outside. We didn't even make our everyday trip to the mailbox. Instead, we stayed in and played with the dinosaur, napped, baked muffins and cupcakes, did laundry, ate some yummy sweet potatoes...lots of fun stuff!

We really had a great day of doing absolutely nothing. We will be on the road most of the day tomorrow for Trey's birthday party, so it was nice to just hang out at home today. I included a great picture of Reagan sitting up playing with her dinosaur. I just really like the close up, so I had to put it on too!

Little Swimmer

We had a busy day today. First, we went to the pool where the water was quite cold for the first full day of summer. My little water dog loved it anyway and splashed just as much as the older kids who were running around.

After that we hit the mall for a big Gymboree sale. I can't say much about that in case my husband reads this. LOL. Reagan seems to always sense when I am shopping for her though, and will sit in her stroller with what seems like endless patience.

After that, we were off to my chiropractor appointment. I take her with me most days. I am in and out so quickly it isn't really worth getting a sitter. Plus, I think the doctor and receptionist have gotten used to seeing her so much. She was good and beamed smiles at everyone, as usual. It is so nice to be blessed with such a happy child.

When we got home, the BabyLegs I had ordered for her had come in the mail. These are pretty cool little things. Necessary? Absolutely not, but nice just the same. You can check them out here. www.babylegs.net She is wearing them in the picture. She is also sitting on the new blanket her Grandbuggy made her. It has motorcycles on it, which Daddy loves. It is all hand stitched, although the picture doesn't do it justice. We love it. Thanks, Grandbuggy!

About watermelon smiles...

Reagan has started to eat some chunks of fruit this week in something called a mesh feeder. It allows you to put chunks of stuff inside. The baby can get the liquid from that chunk, but no actual chunks, meaning less of a choking hazard.

Reagan's first chunk of fruit was watermelon. As I handed her the brightly colored "chunk holder" she looked at it like a brand new toy. Since it didn't light up, spin around, play music or otherwise catch her attention, it went straight to her mouth. Okay, it would have gone straight to her mouth anyway.

She munched on her watermelon while trying out several different facial expressions. The "O" face...boy that is sweet. The "big eye" face...wow, I think I could eat this. The "what is this" face when the juice starts to run down her hands, arms, chin, neck, chest.....

Throughout all of this, I sat watching my daughter. Not believing, first, that I even have a daughter, but that she is 6 months old? Seriously? Wow. That is one thing that no one can ever make you understand. No matter how many people tell you how quickly time will go by, it will go faster.

Anyway, here is my little girl after her watermelon. She had already been cleaned up, but the smiles were still dripping from her face.
